Performance Schedule 2003

Stuff We're Gonna Do:

Well, we only have one booking to report at present -- the Glen Carbon Methodist Church is hosting a Fall Festival on October 26th, and have requested our humble band to provide some entertainment. The festivities start at 5:00, and we hope to play for about 40 minutes. We'd love to see you there!

That's it for now. Keep us in mind if you'd like to have some good live Bluegrass for your special occasion. We enjoy playing for small groups...more interaction is possible.

We are in the studio working on new original tunes. We hope to have a CD out soon (we're having some trouble getting the case open...)

Look for old "favorites" (well at least our wives pretend to like them) like December Wind, The Carpathian Mountain Breakdown, Light Through the Window and Black Beauty (with the tune's writer "Dobro" Dan Davis) as well as some new tunes never before attempted on CD.

Stuff We Already Did:

This is the "Old News" section. We left it in here to avoid the effort of deleting it. Well actually, it is kind of interesting to look back on the shows we played last year, even if we can't really remember anything about them.

On Feb. 16th, we played a show at the Bement Country Opry in Bement, Illinois. It was a great evening! We shared the billing with Kara Sutherland and Stringtown Road, and had a good time.

On Feb. 23rd, we played in the Open Stage band contest at the Gateway City Bluegrass Festival at the Frontenac Hilton in St Louis. It was a lot of fun, and gave us another chance to play for a good Bluegrass audience and meet with some old friends.

On May 7th, we were at the "Taste Of Tourism" convention in Alton, IL. We played a bunch of our favorite tunes at the Celebration Of Music exhibit. It was a treat to see all of the displays, and to realize that our area is quite rich in natural and historic places to visit. And the food wasn't bad, either!

On June 1st, we played at the Farmers' Market in downtown Alton. We were there from 10:00 'til about 11:30, and had a great time. I came home with some delicious strawberries, peach butter, plum jam, and a sunburn...

June 15th was an enjoyable event for us all... we played at the Third Annual Bluegrass Festival to benefit KDHX FM 88.1, and it went quite well. Of particular interest is the fact that all the bands' performances were taped for future release on a compilation CD, so this will be our first "release." Ben Ketcherside took several photos while we were playing, which can be viewed by clicking here.

On Saturday, August 3rd, we played for a benefit at the DeWitt County Museum in Clinton, IL. That was fun! The setting was fascinating, as their museum is a grand old Victorian mansion with a big shaded front yard and a sizeable front porch that served as the stage. The crowd was great, and we hope to play there again one of these days.
